$120,000.00/yr - $160,000.00/yr Direct message the job poster from Knightwerx Knightwerx is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Engineer to design, integrate, and validate avionics, power systems, and electrical architectures for a small unmanned electric aircraft. We operate in a fast‑paced development environment where reliability, safety, and mission success are paramount. You will work closely with avionics, software, and aeromechanical teams to deliver robust electrical solutions from prototype through production. Work Experience

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field 5+ years professional experience designing and integrating electrical systems for UAVs, aerospace platforms, or similar complex vehicles Proven track record with power distribution, wiring harnesses, avionics integration, and EMI/EMC considerations Attributes

Hands‑on engineer who enjoys both design and hardware integration Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills Detail‑oriented with a commitment to high‑quality, reliable solutions Effective communicator across engineering disciplines Adaptable to changing requirements and fast development cycles Primary Duties

Design and document aircraft electrical architectures, including power distribution, signal routing, and system grounding Specify, source, and integrate avionics, sensors, and payload electrical interfaces Develop wiring harnesses and cable assemblies, including connector and pinout specifications Ensure compliance with EMI/EMC requirements and electrical safety standards Support prototype builds, integration testing, and troubleshooting of electrical subsystems Collaborate with mechanical teams to route and package electrical systems within aircraft constraints Create and maintain electrical schematics, harness drawings, and Bill of Materials (BOMs) Tasks

Generate schematics and PCB layouts for custom electronics as required Perform electrical load analysis and power budgeting Integrate communication protocols (CAN, Ethernet, UART, etc.) between subsystems Conduct continuity, insulation resistance, and functional testing on electrical assemblies Work with suppliers for harness manufacturing and PCB fabrication Support flight test operations with electrical integration and troubleshooting Maintain detailed documentation for all electrical systems and modifications Skills

Proficiency with CAD tools for electrical design (Altium Designer, SolidWorks Electrical, or similar) Strong understanding of DC power systems, battery management, and charging systems Experience with avionics integration, sensors, and RF systems Familiarity with aerospace‑grade connectors, wiring standards, and harness fabrication practices Knowledge of EMI/EMC mitigation techniques Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings for packaging considerations Hands‑on prototyping, soldering, and electrical assembly skills Familiarity with UAV flight control and payload integration requirements Requirements

Must have US citizenship On‑site, collaborative work environment
