Position Overview Assistant Professor of Microbiology, Tenure Track, 1.0 FTE, Fall 2026. The preferred candidate will have a Ph.D. in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, or a related field (ABD may be considered) with expertise in general microbiology. Appointment will be within the College of Health Professions and Science and housed in a newly renovated, state‑of‑the‑art facility. Instructional duties will primarily include teaching General Microbiology, Principles of Biology, Discover Biology, and other courses as needs dictate, with the opportunity to develop new courses in your area of expertise. Online development and delivery of selected courses may be a component of the instructional load. Establishment and active management of a discipline‑related research program involving undergraduates is expected. Evidence of high‑quality, innovative college teaching experience and potential for productive, externally‑funded research in an undergraduate, liberal arts setting are required. Salary is dependent on experience and the collective bargaining agreement.

Evidence of successful teaching experience at the university level

Experience teaching General Microbiology

Interest in online course delivery

Experience mentoring undergraduate researchers
