Civil/Structural Lead Engineer
– Framatome, Charlotte, NC.
Overview Join as a key member of the Steam Generator Replacement Business Line in the Installed Base Business Unit. This full‑time role focuses on engineered openings in pre‑stressed concrete containment structures to support large component replacement, removal, and reinstallation.
Responsibilities
Lead design and analysis of engineered openings in pre‑stressed concrete containment structures.
Develop and oversee engineered platforms that support large component removal and reinstallation.
Identify and eliminate structural interferences that may impact the large component or opening.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to optimize safety, quality, and schedule.
Travel up to 25% and provide short‑term outage support as required.
Qualifications
Completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
At least 5 years of directly related experience.
Advanced knowledge of engineering standards, techniques, and criteria.
Strong communication skills to interpret and convey detailed technical data.
Advanced problem identification and resolution skills.
Demonstrated leadership characteristics.
Questioning attitude and commitment to self‑checking.
Advanced proficiency with specific software tools (CAD, FEA, CFD) and programming skills.

Additional Skills
Proficient in structural analysis and design codes (e.g., ACI 318/349, AISC Steel Construction Manual) and rigging requirements.
Excellent technical written and verbal communication skills.
Familiarity with software tools such as ANSYS, GT STRUDL, or SASSI.
Experience with seismic analyses and determination of seismic loading.
Prior nuclear industry experience.

Compensation & Benefits Base salary range:
$101,000 - $138,000
(actual compensation may vary). Includes annual incentives, performance bonuses, and comprehensive benefits.
