Senior Engineer – Software Engineering – GEICO GEICO is seeking an experienced Engineer with a passion for building high‑performance, low‑maintenance, zero‑downtime platforms and applications. You will help drive our insurance business transformation as we transition from a traditional IT model to a tech organization with engineering excellence as its mission, while co‑creating the culture of psychological safety and continuous improvement.

Base pay range $105,000.00/yr – $215,000.00/yr

Position Responsibilities

Team up with architects, scrum masters, leads, managers, and directors in an Agile environment for Identity & Access Management organization needs.

Build next‑generation identity platform in Azure.

Apply software development techniques such as automated testing and CI/CD to build software products.

Collaborate across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions in full‑stack development tools and technologies.

Perform unit tests and conduct reviews with other team members to ensure code is rigorously designed, elegantly coded, and effectively tuned for performance.

Stay at the forefront of emerging identity trends, technologies, and best practices, and apply this knowledge to enhance GEICO’s data protection strategies.

Qualifications

Fluency and specialization in Go.

Experience designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining microservices.

Hands‑on experience with Kubernetes and infrastructure within AWS, GCP, or Azure.

Ability to excel in a fast‑paced, startup‑like environment.

Strong problem‑solving abilities and proactive approach to identifying and mitigating security risks and vulnerabilities.

Excellent communication skills, able to communicate complete technical concepts to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

Experience

4+ years of professional experience in software engineering.

2+ years of experience with security, identity, architecture, and design.

2+ years of experience with open‑source frameworks is desired.

2+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or another cloud service.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experience.
