Senior Accountant 1 POSITION SUMMARY: Senior Accountant 1 performs general ledger accounting, lease accounting, debt management and intercompany accounting by preparing journal entries and account reconciliations. They perform reconciliation systems management (Blackline) and assist with quarter‑end and year‑end closing processes. They interact with all other team members internally, outside auditors and SOX consultants, and with third‑party service providers.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Perform monthly, quarterly, and year‑end close processes including preparing journal entries and account reconciliations related to debt, intercompany, leases, allocations and international accounting.

Initial review of treasury and investment portfolios and preparation of quarterly disclosure reports, including the preparation of any related bank transaction entries and applicable reconciliations.

Prepare support data for Property Tax and Sales Tax reporting.

Perform account reconciliation and journal entry management, including administration of reconciliation software (Blackline).

Prepare support schedules for SEC report, annual audit, and tax returns.

Assess and develop opportunities for process improvements for responsible areas, including internal controls.

Other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Bachelor’s degree in accounting with a minimum of 4 years’ experience, preferably in a combination of public accounting and biotech industry (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered).

Strong Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) skills.

Solid understanding of US GAAP. CPA a plus.

Proficient in accounting systems, Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains experience a plus.

Ability to protect and safeguard confidential information and adapt to changing work approaches.

Strong problem‑solving skills, critical thinking, and analytical skills.

Ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams effectively.

Hands on and able to multi‑task, work independently and meet deadlines.

Phenomenal attention to detail and good organizational skills.

Environmental Conditions Physical Activities: On a continuous basis, be at a desk for a long period of time; intermittently answer the telephone and type on a computer. Some walking and lifting up to 20 lbs. may be required. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate. Travel Travel may be required up to 5% of your time.

Pay Rate Range: $40-55/hr depending on experience.
