As a Leader in observability, you’ll help take our metrics and tracing to the next level and build infrastructure services that support a full DevOps model for our engineering teams.

About the Role We’re looking for a highly‑technical engineering leader with experience building distributed teams and open‑source projects commonly found in large‑scale deployments. The role is remote‑friendly across the EST time zone.

What You’ll Do

Manage a growing team of engineers focused on building quality platforms.

Participate in architecting large‑scale distributed tracing/metrics platforms for CrowdStrike service teams.

Lead regular retrospectives, capacity, and planning meetings to foster high‑fidelity collaboration.

Engage in “lunch and learn” demos for new POCs or design sessions to explore new architectures.

Advocate flexible work arrangements with transparent communication and a healthy work‑life balance.

Review, provide feedback, and approve new design proposals from your team.

What You’ll Need

8+ years of industry experience in software engineering or operations.

Deep experience in observability and tracing (e.g., OpenTelemetry, Tempo, Sentry).

Strong background in metrics (e.g., Prometheus, Thanos).

Hands‑on software development: building Kubernetes operators in Python, Bash or Go.

Experience with large‑scale, business‑critical Linux environments.

Proficiency in cloud platforms, preferably AWS and GCP.

Knowledge of TDD, CI/CD, chaos engineering and other resilience practices.

Bonus Points

Proven ability to work effectively with both local and remote teams.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Independence with the discretion to seek help when needed.

Active contributions to OSS projects.

Experience with on‑call duties.

Knowledge of SRE, DevOps and GitOps practices.
