The Video Investigations Specialist position is responsible for conducting video investigations and completing reports for ADA Complaints, various liability claims, employee complaints and misconduct as well as internal and external criminal incidents involving other law enforcement jurisdictions. The position is also responsible for performing Real Time Video observation to locate criminal activity and report immediate information to RTD Transit Police.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES ESSENTIAL
Collects, examines, preserves, processes and analyzes video, audio and digital multimedia evidence for investigative purpose from facilities, light rail vehicles, commuter rail vehicles, and buses.
Review incidents and prepares detailed reports to include observations, analysis and results of examination and completes detailed reports into the Transit Police Records Management System.
Marks and stores audio/video evidence in accordance with established evidence handling requirements, while maintaining a chain of custody for all video evidence.
Collaborates with local law enforcement agencies and testifies in court, as needed.
Observe cameras in real time to locate criminal behavior or incidents.
Prepares statistical reports that compiles data related to video investigations and real time video capturing.
Works closely with RTD Risk Management, Legal, Bus, Rail and other operational support divisions.
Ability to view sensitive videos and adhere to confidentiality and uses discretion effectively to determine a proper course of action consistent with department mission and values.

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree in business, public administration, management, criminal justice or related field preferred.
A minimum of three years experience in a security position including experience with CCTV operations & video investigations.
License and certification through Colorado Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) and intermediate level NIMS certification preferred.
Proficiency in all aspects of the investigations process.
Proficient with the criminal justice system; includes federal, state, and local law enforcement regulations.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
Ability to use sound judgment.
Ability to manage time and workload effectively which includes planning, organizing, and prioritizing with attention to details.
Ability to work a flexible work schedule.
OR
An equivalent combination of education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities.
