Principal Network Architect – Network Solutions
USG, Inc. is seeking a Principal Technical Architect specializing in advanced campus and branch network design. This senior-level role is accountable for defining the architectural vision, validating complex network solutions, and ensuring all designs meet operational, security, and scalability requirements. The position demands a hands‑on leader who can both set strategic direction and guide technical execution across large implementations.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the end‑to‑end architectural design and strategy for enterprise campus and branch networks.
Define and evolve network architecture standards, blueprints, and best practices.
Conduct in‑depth system analysis to align solutions with technical and business goals.
Serve as a subject‑matter expert on large‑scale network design, automation, and modernization.
Partner with engineering, security, and operations teams to ensure cohesive solution delivery.
Oversee full‑lifecycle implementation including lab validation, pilot deployment, and production cutover.
Implement policy‑based automation and segmentation using Cisco SD‑Access and ACI technologies.
Develop and maintain design documents, operational runbooks, and as‑built records.
Required Technical Expertise
Hands‑on expertise with Cisco SD‑Access and Catalyst Center for automation and assurance.
Proven experience with Cisco ACI and data center fabric implementations.
Strong proficiency in Cisco ISE, TrustSec, and policy‑based segmentation.
Expert‑level knowledge of BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and multicast routing.
Experience with large‑scale campus wired/wireless infrastructures.
Strong understanding of network security tools including Cisco FTD, IDS/IPS, and ACL management.
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
10+ years of experience in network architecture, design, and implementation for large enterprises.
Cisco CCIE (or equivalent expert‑level certification) strongly preferred.
Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
