Our client, a global financial services firm, is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to join their team in either Los Angeles, CA or New York, NY!
Responsibilities
Develop secure and reliable integrations between enterprise systems using REST APIs, Graph API, and platform‑specific SDKs.
Build and maintain MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers and agents connecting AI platforms with enterprise systems for secure data interaction.
Partner with stakeholders to identify automation opportunities, design integration architectures, and implement innovative, AI‑enabled workflows.
Develop containerized services, automation scripts, and web applications using Python, PowerShell/Bash, Docker, FastAPI, and React.
Implement and manage authentication and authorization using OAuth 2.0, JWT, SAML, and API key frameworks.
Design data transformation workflows and event‑driven architectures for system‑to‑system communication.
Build RESTful APIs and webhook handlers with robust error handling, logging, and retry logic.
Implement monitoring, logging, and observability for integration endpoints and data pipelines.
Write clear documentation, architecture specs, and troubleshooting guides. Conduct code reviews and collaborate with systems and DevOps engineers on implementation.
Qualifications
7+ years in systems engineering, software development, or DevOps roles.
Proven success designing and deploying production‑grade API integrations across enterprise platforms.
Expert‑level proficiency in Python for backend, automation, and API services.
Experience integrating with the Microsoft 365 ecosystem (Graph API, Entra ID, Azure) or comparable enterprise platforms.
Deep understanding of RESTful design, authentication protocols (OAuth 2.0, JWT, SAML), and microservices architectures.
Experience designing event‑driven and asynchronous workflows, including data transformation and message queuing.
Strong grasp of software testing frameworks, performance optimization, and API best practices (rate limiting, pagination, webhooks).
Excellent communication and teamwork skills, able to contribute to a small, highly technical team while respecting existing structures and processes.
Experience with data warehousing or analytics platforms (Databricks, Snowflake, Azure Synapse, etc.).
Nice to Have
Experience with Model Context Protocol (MCP) or related AI integration frameworks.
Cloud‑native development in Azure and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
Experience with Docker/Kubernetes container orchestration.
Exposure to financial services or other highly regulated environments.
Experience with audit, compliance, and data governance processes.
Public code examples (GitHub/portfolio) demonstrating API and integration work.
Familiarity with Pandas/Numpy and Python data analysis libraries.
