One of the largest divisions in the Firm, Operations is the first line of defense for Morgan Stanley’s financial and reputational well-being and essential in delivering value. Operations is responsible for correctly settling and recording millions of transactions per day, identifying and mitigating operational risk, developing strong client relationships and partnering with technology to realize the full potential of IT and Automation. Operations has a premier team of creative and dedicated professionals, with a unique vantage point interacting with all parts of the business.

Global Loan Services (GLS) partners closely with Morgan Stanley’s various institutional lending business lines, including Secured Lending, Corporate Credit, and Leveraged Finance, and Corporate Credit to process daily activities, develop and implement new products and services, as well as drive efficiency and reduce risk in the operational processes supporting the full loan lifecycle.

GLS Transformation is a project management and business analysis team responsible for driving and delivering change for Global Loan Services. The team is responsible for providing process re‑engineering leadership to drive improved quality and enhanced efficiency. The team partners with Operations line leadership and Technology to shape product, service and functional strategies and deliver related application solutions. The team also supports key business enablement initiatives as well as client and industry driven product development.

What You’ll Do In The Role

Serve as a subject matter expert within functional area, working with Team Manager to manage processes, risks and/or projects, proposing and implementing improvements/changes

Act as key problem solver for area or expertise, applying detailed knowledge to address unique or novel situations, recognize risks and draw out key issues

Coordinate work, train and develop other team members where required, including task allocation, and project contribution

Act as Project Manager / Business Analyst leading small and medium sized projects in support of Global Loans Services Transformation

Executing the GLS technology roadmap in close collaboration with our technology partners

Projects include but are not limited to new and enhanced business capabilities, efficiency and scalability gains for the Global Loan Services and beyond, and enhanced operational risk management and controls

What You’ll Bring To The Role

Ability to lead by example, work with drive and determination, and put forward challenging views to senior levels

Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of functional area and operational/compliance policies and procedures of their team

Ability to operate independently across the majority of day-to-day responsibilities

Culture carrier across Operations, embracing the Firm's core values and acting as a role model

The role will be able to fully bring to bear strong institutional lending subject matter expertise and strong Project Execution skills, and deep People and Stakeholder management acumen.

Ideal candidate will have at least 4 years prior Run the Bank or Change experience – Deep understanding of front-to-back processes and platforms around trade lifecycle

Ability to continuously execute small and medium sized change projects and realize value for the business and for Global Loan Services.

Strong delivery record in line or change space

Experience in managing projects with remote stakeholders and users

Ability to hold delivery partners in Operations and Technology accountable

Ability to partner effectively with stakeholders in the Business, Operations, Technology, and relevant enterprise functions, to execute the Global Loan Services Change agenda

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $82,000 and $133,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long‑term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
