Job Description The Civil Engineer IV role is located in Seattle, WA, Orange, CA, and Los Angeles, CA offices. The successful candidate will work with Project Managers and other technical disciplines across all project phases to deliver a variety of projects. Responsibilities
Serve as a senior technical resource and technical advisor for the team.
Provide specialized technical input to studies and design for staff’s specific area of expertise.
Develop study and design procedures to facilitate high-quality, cost-effective work by others.
Participate in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
Develop construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects.
Use expertise in all steps of completing discipline component of PS&E package.
Perform quality control review of design calculations or drawings.
Prepare technical specification sections.
Provide input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.
Coordinate with clients, sub-consultants, regulatory agencies, and members of the public to accomplish assigned objectives.
Additional Responsibilities
Technical resources may serve as technical advisor for the team.
Communicate project tasks between offices – high level of coordination and communication skills required.
Provide specialized technical input to studies and design for staff’s specific area of expertise.
Develop study and design procedures to facilitate high-quality cost-effective work by others.
Participate in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
Develop construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects.
Perform quality control review of design calculations or drawings.

Qualifications Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field and 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Preferred Qualifications:
10+ years experience serving as Engineer of Record on projects.
Licensed Professional Engineer in California or Washington.
Experience mentoring or supervising other engineering professionals.
Ability to communicate and coordinate effectively with diverse audience.
Prior experience leading Site Civil/Land Development projects including site layout, grading plans, utility plans, stormwater management plans, pavement jointing, and construction administration services.
Prior experience leading Federal or State of California projects.
Civil 3D experience.
Bluebeam experience.

Compensation The offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $140,000 to $180,000.
