Location: Corpus Christi, Texas. Travel: 50% – 70%.

SUMMARY Oil and Petroleum Inspectors visit client facilities—barges, ships, shore tanks, railcars, and tank trucks—to conduct quantity surveys of a variety of commodities, including petroleum and petrochemicals. They perform inspection and collect samples for laboratory analysis.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintain a valid driver’s license and a working vehicle (car or truck; motorcycles not allowed) at all times.

Receive orders, obtain information, and gather paperwork from Operations Supervisors on movements.

Ensure all equipment is in good operating condition—calibration verification, correct, clean, and appropriate safety and monitoring equipment.

Report to job sites punctually, observe all applicable company federal and state regulations and standards, Terminal, Refinery, and/or vessel requirements, including safety and measurement standards.

Attend “Key Meetings” with external personnel ashore and/or abroad. Represent the company by appearance and conduct. Behave ethically at all times.

Communicate any problems, discrepancies, or other noteworthy incidents to the Operations Supervisor and/or Dispatcher without delay.

Obtain samples, gauge shore tanks, vessel(s), barge(s), railcar(s), and/or tank truck(s) as specified per job order.

Label sample containers with full and correct identifying data—location, material, type of sample, safety information, time collected, etc.

Promptly and accurately calculate quantities and complete all required paperwork, distributing copies appropriately.

Promptly and safely deliver samples to the laboratory for analysis, transfer for retain, or client facilities for analysis or retain.

Other duties may be assigned.
