Position Summary: Florida Atlantic University is seeking an Assistant or Associate Director of Benefits and Retirement Services - Boca Raton, FL. Reporting directly to the Director of Human Resources, the ADBRS works with the AVP for Human Resources to coordinate with state offices (DGIS, FRS, PeopleFirst) and benefit plan representatives to administer, support, and implement benefits and retirement programs.
Summary of Responsibilities
Lead the Benefits and Retirement Services staff (4 individuals) to provide comprehensive benefit/retirement plan information, enrollment assistance, and support to all University employees.
Provide insurance use, information, guidance, and strategy for employees. Meet with employees to review benefit/retirement enrollments and address questions.
Collaborate with PeopleFirst and FAU Payroll to ensure accurate premiums, deductions, and withholdings.
Disseminate updates regarding plan changes and participant updates.
Conduct meetings and seminars to provide engagement and education of all benefit/retirement plans; lead the annual Benefits Fair.
Coordinate marketing materials, plan documents, brochures, and updates with Public Affairs.
Implement plan changes and work with HR, IT, Payroll/Finance for system testing.
Supervise 4 staff employees, perform annual evaluations, manage workloads, and mentor.
Provide administrative support for leave programs in coordination with HR Risk Manager and Payroll.
Attend meetings, seminars, and trainings; assist with audits, reviews, and investigations.
Serve on temporary committees and perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with 6 years of appropriate experience, OR
Associate degree with 8 years of appropriate experience, OR
High School Diploma with 10 or more years of experience.
Salary Commensurate with experience.
