Responsibilities
Project Management: prepare proposals, scopes of work, and budgets for new projects; manage phases of geotechnical investigations; manage deadlines; quality assurance and quality control; supervise staff engineers and technicians; supervise engineering analysis by staff; train staff in basic engineering procedures and techniques; supervise laboratory testing.
Coordinate Investigations: prepare subsurface investigations; review subsurface data; assign appropriate laboratory testing; interpret laboratory test data for engineering analyses.
Engineering Analysis: perform slope stability, landslide stability, liquefaction hazard, settlement, debris flow, foundation design, lateral earth pressure, pavement design, soil and rock mechanics, and groundwater evaluation and control; review and evaluate grading and building plans; recommend geotechnical constraints and mitigation measures; proficient in Excel, slope stability analysis (e.g., Slide), and liquefaction analysis.
Prepare and/or Review Technical Reports: review studies and analyze field logs and laboratory data; recommend foundation types and earthwork recommendations.
Qualifications Required: Proficiency in Project Management, Excel, slope stability analysis, liquefaction analysis; experience in geotechnical engineering and related disciplines.
