Our Atlanta office—conveniently located just off I-285 between the Perimeter and the Cumberland/Galleria area—is seeking an experienced Tax Supervisor (or Tax Senior ready for that next step) to join our growing tax practice. This hybrid role offers flexibility, autonomy, and a clearly defined path to advancement.
Position Summary As a
Tax Supervisor , you will lead client engagements, review complex tax returns, and provide strategic tax planning for a diverse mix of individuals, partnerships, corporations, and closely held businesses. You’ll work directly with clients, manage staff assignments, and collaborate closely with partners and managers to deliver top-tier client service. This position is ideal for a motivated CPA who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys developing junior team members.
Key Responsibilities
Review and oversee preparation of federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts.
Manage multiple client engagements, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with applicable tax laws.
Provide proactive tax planning and consulting for clients across diverse industries.
Supervise, mentor, and train staff accountants and interns.
Conduct tax research and resolve complex issues in collaboration with partners.
Represent clients before the IRS and state tax authorities as needed.
Maintain high-quality standards and uphold firm policies and professional ethics.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required; Master’s in Taxation preferred
Active CPA license required
5–8 years of recent public accounting experience in tax
Proficient in tax software such as CCH Axcess, ProSystem fx, or comparable platforms
Strong understanding of federal and multi-state tax regulations
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
