Accounting Manager
We are seeking an experienced
Accounting Manager
to oversee all aspects of financial reporting and accounting operations. This position plays a key role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial statements, maintaining sound accounting principles and procedures, and managing a small accounting team. The Accounting Manager will collaborate closely with senior leadership to support audits, budgeting, and forecasting initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day accounting operations and maintain a strong understanding of the general ledger and financial reporting structure.
Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
Prepare and review account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reports.
Support cash management activities and assist with daily banking functions.
Collaborate with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
Prepare and file state and local tax returns, including sales and use taxes.
Maintain credit and collections procedures; review customer credit applications and monitor credit limits.
Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing activities.
Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Identify and implement process improvements to strengthen internal controls and streamline workflow.
Respond to management inquiries regarding financial results and special reporting requests.
Coordinate with auditors to ensure timely completion of annual audits.
Maintain employee and payroll records, benefits updates, and compliance documentation.
Partner with management on ad hoc projects and reporting initiatives.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including prior supervisory responsibilities.
Strong understanding of GAAP and general ledger systems.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software (experience with ERP systems like Oracle preferred).
Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
Detail-oriented, proactive, and hands‑on leader with a collaborative mindset.
Salary range: $100,000 – $120,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
