Electronics Engineer
to join our fast-growing Engineering Homeroom team in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
You will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Lifecycle Sustainment and Modernization Solutions (LSMS). LSMS provides sustainment support for the US Air Force B-2 Bombers, E-3 Sentry, Sentinel ICBM, and numerous other Government platforms. Our team members complete engineering, reverse engineering, and logistics solution efforts to solve complex obsolescence problems and ensure warfighter supportability.
You will support the Lead Engineer in the execution of various program activities, including Test system design and evaluation, design and development of communication, flight controls, navigation, radar, avionics, power and/or electrical systems architecture, components, circuits, and products or aircraft maintenance. The position will research, develop, design, and test electrical components, equipment, systems, and products for defense or commercial systems.
Responsibilities
Provide leadership and mentoring in addition to being an individual performer
Analyze complex electronic circuitry and precision electro‑mechanical assemblies through simulation or analysis to recommend component substitutions or redesign solutions to ensure platform configuration integrity, system safety, and performance specifications
Identify, analyze, and solve obsolescence issues
Access, interpret, and recommend changes to engineering drawings
Establish design concepts, criteria, and engineering efforts for product research, development, integration, and test
Establish milestones and monitor adherence to master plans and schedules
Identify program problems and assist in the establishment of solutions, such as allocation of resources, improved processes, or changing contractual specifications
Act independently to uncover and resolve issues associated with the development and implementation of programs
Support process improvement and establishment
Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications
Generate reports and present to Government counterparts, defense contractors, and other cross‑functional organizations
Basic Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with a minimum of 2 years of experience or a master’s degree in electrical engineering with a minimum of 0 years of experience
Must be able to work on‑site in Oklahoma City, OK. No relocation is provided
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs
Preferred Qualifications
Active DoD Secret Security Clearance (or higher)
Experience with test planning at the circuit card, equipment, and system level
Experience with nuclear‑hardened systems
Experience with information security, COMSEC and TEMPEST
Experience with DOORS and general requirements management best practices
Experience with embedded software development and/or cybersecurity
Experience conducting analysis of electrical components within aircraft maintenance programs, determining effectiveness, and creating written recommendations for increasing efficiency and effectiveness
Experience with RF systems
Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair hardware components
Experience with CAD or similar design tools
Experience with aerospace systems
Experience with Air Force customers and aerospace industry and military standards
Primary Level Salary Range: $73,100.00 - $109,700.00
Employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses reward individual contributions and company results. For Senior or Director positions, long‑term incentives may apply. Northrop Grumman also provides health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, company‑paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO) for vacation or personal business.
