Confidential Executive Assistant, Office of the General Counsel/Legal Affairs Position Overview: The Office of the Senior Vice Chancellor for Legal Affairs and General Counsel at The City University of New York (the “University” or “CUNY”) seeks a detail‑oriented and professional Confidential Executive Assistant to provide administrative and operational support to members of senior leadership within OGC.

Responsibilities

Provide administrative support including calendar management, meeting scheduling, and deadline tracking.

Prepare, edit, and proofread correspondence, memoranda, and other legal/administrative documents.

Coordinate internal and external communications, ensuring discretion and confidentiality.

Assist in organizing meetings, trainings, and events; prepare agendas, materials, and minutes.

Maintain organized electronic and paper filing systems per university policies.

Support project timelines, deliverable monitoring, and office workflows.

Collaborate with staff across the Central Office and 26 constituent schools and colleges for efficient information flow.

Provide administrative coverage and collaborate with other OGC staff to ensure continuity.

Handle sensitive and privileged information with professionalism and discretion.

Perform related duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications Minimum:

Bachelor’s degree and at least six years of related experience.

Exceptional organizational, written, and verbal communication, interpersonal, and follow‑through skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and remote meeting platforms; ability to learn new systems.

Strong judgment, integrity, and discretion handling confidential information.

Experience in a legal, university, corporate, government, or nonprofit setting.

Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Proactive, flexible, and able to exercise discretion and sound judgment.

Strong organizational skills, ability to manage workload, prioritize, and meet deadlines.

Team‑player with ability to collaborate across diverse stakeholders.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary range: $109,898 – $118,070, commensurate with credentials, education, and experience.

Benefits include health plans, retirement/pension benefits, tuition waivers for graduate study, paid time off, and access to university academic and athletic programs.

Other Details Work schedule: Eligible for hybrid work schedule. This position is excluded from union representation.
