We are seeking an Associate Airport Engineer to join our Airport Technology Engineering team based in Seal Beach, California. The selected candidate will contribute to ensuring that Boeing airplanes are compatible with and have access to airports worldwide, uphold airport regulations, support new airplane design requirements, minimize aircraft/airport constraints, and provide program support.
Position Responsibilities
Compare airplane configurations with airport operations and infrastructure worldwide to identify incompatible airplane or airport features.
Perform on-site tests to validate pavement roughness and strength and provide recommendations.
Analyze and document airport infrastructure and make recommendations for airport modifications and upgrades.
Conduct trade studies of airplane design characteristics and provide recommendations on configuration changes.
Participate in airport-related conferences, groups and industry meetings to disseminate airplane product development trends and effect regulatory and infrastructure changes.
Work under general direction.
Work Authorization Statement This position is expected to be 100% onsite at the Seal Beach, CA location.
Basic Qualifications (Required)
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or a non‑US equivalent directly related to the work statement.
2+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience.
Experience in AutoCAD/AviPlan and FAA Pavement Design tools.
Strong communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired)
A Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
2+ years of related work experience in airport design and planning.
Experience interacting with airline customers, aviation industry associations, or national aviation authority officials.
Relocation This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility. Basic relocation is available for internal candidates.
