Multi-Platform Content Director . The ideal candidate must have excellent news judgment, a strong command of breaking news and big story coverage, and a proven ability to drive impactful storytelling across digital and on-air platforms. This role oversees the daily operations of a highly competitive top-10 market newsroom and plays a strategic role in shaping content strategy, workflow, and communication. This is a rare opportunity to join one of the most respected ownership groups in the nation. You will report to the News Director.
Responsibilities
Work with the News Director and Assistant News Director to ensure daily and long-term content adheres to the WCVB brand and the department’s overall strategy
Lead daily editorial meeting discussions surrounding and promote linear and digital content
Build and execute a newsroom communication plan leveraging tools such as Microsoft Teams and AI platforms
Support planning and execution of big event coverage from elections to debates to the Boston Marathon and other community-focused efforts
Coach reporters on multiplatform storytelling
Provide mentorship and daily feedback to reporters, producers, and desk personnel
Requirements
5+ years of newsroom management experience
A strategic approach to building content, growing people, and embracing technology
Commitment to digital-first mindset
Ability to command a large staff in an ever-evolving 24/7 news environment
Producing and digital background preferred
Salary The estimated base salary range for this role is between $125,000 and $150,000. The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as transferable skills, work experience, business needs, market demands and conditions, including geographic location where the work will be performed, and other factors permitted by law. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
