Responsibilities:

Design and layout electrical control panels to meet UL508A and NEC standards.

Select and integrate sensors, pneumatic components, and automation products such as photo sensors, vision systems, and hot melt systems.

Develop, modify, and debug PLC, HMI, and Kinetix servo motion control programs.

Create electrical schematics and bills of materials tailored to each project.

Manage electrical control system component selection to ensure efficiency in time and cost.

Interpret customer specifications and adjust machine electrical schematics as needed.

Collaborate with Mechanical Engineering teams to integrate electrical and mechanical systems.

Troubleshoot control systems both remotely and at client sites.

Travel to customer locations for system installation, modifications, and provide aftermarket support (up to 30% travel).

Train and mentor entry‑level controls engineers and assist in developing engineering standards and control system procedures.

Must-Have Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related field.

5+ years of experience with Allen‑Bradley PLCs (Studio5000), HMI development (FactoryTalk View), and AutoCAD.

Strong background in machine automation, motion control, and electrical schematic design.

Proficient in AutoCAD for electrical designs; hands‑on troubleshooting skills with electro‑mechanical systems.

Familiarity with commercial automation products such as photo sensors, pneumatics, and vision systems.

Experience in developing and debugging PLC, HMI, and multi‑axis motion control systems.

Solid understanding of machine timing, industrial wiring, and safe electrical practices.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

Experience with electrical schematic software such as AutoCAD Light or SolidWorks Electrical.

Familiarity with alternative automation platforms such as Ignition and FT Optix.

Prior exposure to industrial automation and custom machine design.

Knowledge of UL508A, NEC compliance in controls design and manufacturing environments.

Leadership experience in mentoring and training junior engineering staff.
