Electrical Engineer, EIT – Direct Hire, Full Time Prudent Technologies and Consulting, Inc.

100% onsite in Houston, TX 77024. Revit experience is REQUIRED. Candidates must have either their EIT or their PE in TX and must be eligible to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship needs.

Responsibilities

Perform engineering calculations and apply engineering principles to assist in the successful design, creation, and delivery of all electrical

AutoCAD

and

Revit

drawings for each client project.

Write, edit, and produce the accompanying specifications for each client project.

Review and approve shop drawings, RFIs, submittals, addendums, and other construction documents for electrical-related items.

Conduct field work and complete field reports on electrical-related items to verify design as assigned.

Apply knowledge of NFPA 70 and NFPA 72 electrical codes.

Use design standards and processes effectively.

Maintain working knowledge of lighting, lighting controls, fire alarm systems, power and power distribution systems, including emergency power.

Participate in client meetings as necessary and/or as assigned by supervisor.

Engage in career development training as assigned by supervisor or Human Resources.

Adapt to new technologies and methodologies to stay current in electrical engineering advancements.

Qualifications – Required Skills and Knowledge

B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.

Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (F.E.) examination.

Certified by the State of Texas as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT).

Exceptional attention to detail and written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to manage multiple projects under strict deadlines and to work well on a team.

Preferred Skills and Knowledge

Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Knowledge of building codes and previous experience in an MEP consulting environment.

Experience in designing lighting and lighting controls, fire alarms, power and power distribution, technology systems, and other standard electrical systems for commercial projects.

Electrical Designers and Electrical Interns as assigned.

Travel

10% Occasional; primarily to and from job sites and/or client meetings.
