Responsibilities
Compile and review mapping and ore routing data with production and modelling geologists to provide quality geologic ore body knowledge to the mine engineering and operational teams
Compile production data for stockpile tracking and mined‑to‑mill reconciliation for weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports
Design and assist with delineation drilling programs, track and report weekly/monthly intercepts and progress, and forecast yearly budgets
Plan and schedule drilling platform inspections with the mine engineering team
Validate drilling data, including assay results, downhole survey, geology logging, QAQC, and other data collected during drilling
Supervise geological logging of diamond core and RC chips
Conduct and train team on digital geological mapping and sampling of active faces and other exposures underground and/or on surface, which may require use of scaling bar and working from extreme platform
Collect mapping and assay data to create 3D grade control models for comparison on a monthly and quarterly basis
Demonstrate strong safety culture and visible fearless leadership with your team and other departments
Supervise manual belt sampling project and personnel
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Geology or related field required
5+ years experience working as an ore control or drilling geologist required
Excellent safety record required
Ability to lead and work within a team environment and possess excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills required
Familiarity with logging diamond core and RC chips required
Familiarity with Leapfrog, Deswik, Vulcan, and AcQuire software preferred
