Azure Databricks Developer
Location: Louisville, KY
Role Overview We are looking for a highly skilled Azure Databricks Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in designing, developing, and optimizing data pipelines using Azure Databricks, along with hands‑on expertise in data engineering, big data frameworks, and cloud‑based analytics solutions. This is a hands‑on technical role that requires deep understanding of Azure data services and modern data architecture principles.
Key Responsibilities
Design, build, and optimize data pipelines and ETL workflows in Azure Databricks.
Integrate and process large‑scale structured and unstructured data from multiple sources.
Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and architects to enable scalable data models.
Implement best practices for data ingestion, transformation, and storage using Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse, and Delta Lake.
Develop and maintain Python, PySpark, or Scala code for data processing and analytics.
Ensure data quality, consistency, and security across all data operations.
Automate workflows using Azure Data Factory and manage CI/CD deployments.
Monitor performance, optimize queries, and troubleshoot issues Databricks environments.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams following Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Required Skills And Qualifications
810 years of overall experience in data engineering or big data development.
3+ years of hands‑on experience in Azure Databricks.
Proficient in Python, PySpark, or Scala programming for data processing.
Strong experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS), and Azure Synapse Analytics.
Knowledge of Delta Lake and data lakehouse architectures.
Strong understanding of SQL and experience with data modeling and performance tuning.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and DevOps practices in Azure environments.
Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and analytical skills.
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
Preferred Skills
Experience with Power BI or other BI/visualization tools.
Exposure to machine learning integration within Databricks.
Familiarity with data governance and security frameworks in Azure.
Certification in Azure Data Engineer Associate or Databricks Certified Data Engineer is a plus.
