The Senior Product Owner will join the Midstream Logistics IT Product Line and guide the strategic direction and delivery of innovative digital solutions that reimagine and optimize business capabilities across Marathon Marine, Rail, and Trucking organizations, and connected business segments. The role requires frequent collaboration and application of design‑thinking techniques such as user stories, wireframing, prototyping, and the ability to work with external partners to select and customize technology products and services.

Key Responsibilities

Build customer and internal‑facing products with superior user experience across multiple verticals.

Build and prioritize product roadmaps, plan releases, and ensure alignment with business objectives.

Collaborate with Agile teams, stakeholders, and business representatives to address and resolve issues during product development.

Work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams (VCO, UX, business & operations) to align on product strategies and plan releases.

Coordinate dependencies with peer organizations (Hybrid Cloud, SAP IT) and third‑party organizations.

Identify product‑related issues, make decisions, and conduct trade‑off analyses to keep development on track.

Prioritize short‑term feature backlog and releases, as well as long‑term product roadmap.

Conduct customer research, product discovery, and synthesize market factors into a cohesive product strategy.

Collaborate with customers to understand challenges and opportunities.

Collect quantitative data and take a data‑driven approach to evaluate the viability of product initiatives.

Write epics and stories, ensuring they communicate customer and stakeholder needs and promote Agile approaches across teams.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, a related field, or equivalent work experience.

Product Owner Agile certification preferred.

5+ years of relevant product owner experience required.

Proven experience in leading multidisciplinary teams through digital innovation.

Knowledge of logistics business capabilities preferred.

Skills

Agile Methodologies – iterative project management throughout the product life cycle.

Backlog Management – prioritize work for the development team based on roadmap and requirements.

Product Development – create, innovate, enhance or improve existing or new products to satisfy end‑user needs.

Product Lifecycle Management – manage a product through development, growth, maturity, and decline.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or a related field.

5+ years of relevant experience.
