Position Overview
Assistant Professor of Public History – Department of History, University of North Carolina Wilmington.
Full‑time, tenure‑track position beginning August 2026. The successful candidate will teach survey courses in public history, supervise M.A. theses and public history projects, and contribute to research, scholarship, and outreach service.
Responsibilities
Teach public‑history courses, including museum studies when qualified.
Supervise M.A. theses and public‑history projects.
Engage in research, scholarship, and outreach service (70% teaching, 10%+ research, 10–30% service).
Qualifications
Ph.D. in History or a related field at the time of appointment (ABD candidates considered; degree required by August 1, 2026).
Experience in teaching, research, service, and outreach.
Strong commitment to teaching, scholarship, and community outreach.
Ability to teach museum‑studies courses (preferred).
