IT Security Analyst - Contract
Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota. This contract position plays a key role in ensuring the organization’s compliance with privacy regulations and safeguarding sensitive information.
Responsibilities
Assist in designing, implementing, and maintaining an effective information privacy program to ensure regulatory compliance.
Conduct thorough investigations of privacy inquiries and complaints, including breach analyses and audits of electronic health records.
Collaborate with department leaders to enforce corrective actions consistently for privacy violations.
Manage breach notification processes and ensure timely completion of required activities.
Provide expert consultation and respond to queries from team members regarding privacy compliance matters.
Maintain detailed records of investigations and outcomes within the designated incident management system.
Develop and deliver privacy training programs, including creating awareness materials and conducting presentations.
Draft, update, and maintain organizational policies and procedures related to information privacy and data practices compliance.
Support IT in creating privacy audit tools and generating investigation reports.
Perform privacy risk assessments and contribute to the development of strategies to mitigate identified risks.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
At least 2 years of experience working in Information Privacy, Data Integrity, or Health Information Management.
Strong knowledge of privacy regulations, including the Minnesota Government Data Practices Act.
Proven ability to conduct investigations and audits related to data privacy.
Excellent communication skills to provide guidance and training on privacy compliance.
Experience in developing policies and procedures for privacy and data practices programs.
Proficiency in using incident management systems to document investigations.
Ability to research and interpret emerging privacy regulations and apply them effectively.
