Project Engineer Mass. Electric Construction Company, a subsidiary of Kiewit Corporation, is one of North America's premier electrical contractors. The Project Engineer will support construction activities by planning, organizing, and implementing processes to manage information and project KPIs. The role supports a Project Manager on large projects and manages technical and administrative staff.

Location Vancouver, WA or Irvine, CA office.

Responsibilities

Develop a complete understanding of contract plans and specifications.

Review, analyze, and resolve design/construction problems, discrepancies, and interferences with the design team, project leadership, client, and contractors.

Ensure all project engineering activities comply with company and contract requirements and support the development and maintenance of the overall construction schedule.

Create and manage a contract execution plan.

Provide technical support for construction effort including design interpretation, application of construction methods, resolution of design conflicts, and constructability reviews.

Develop, implement, and administer a document control program to keep design documents current with onsite construction operations.

Track submittals, project logs, and coordinate documentation; maintain official project log.

Represent the company during design review meetings and assist in preparing special reports and studies.

Assist project leadership with development of scopes of work, subcontracts, and vendor purchase orders.

Oversee the development and periodic updates to the project master schedule using scheduling software.

Review revisions to drawings and contract documents for change of conditions; quantify impacts and distribute new issues to field.

Prepare monthly cost projections and quarterly cash flow projections using project management systems.

Drive the company's environmental health and safety programs at the project level.

Manage and support the project team, including direct reports.

Develop and manage the contract closeout plan and deliverables; manage packaging and submission for successful completion of contracts.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a construction‑related field or equivalent experience.

7+ years’ experience in the construction or engineering field.

Leadership and management skills; strong communication, planning, organization, delegation, mentoring.

Ability to set standards of excellence in leadership, safety, quality, and productivity for subordinates.

Proficiency in managing project engineering functions and activities.

Working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, materials control, estimating, job cost updates, and subcontracts.

Base Compensation $161,000/yr – $168,000/yr (actual compensation may vary based on education, experience, skillset, and location).
