General Description This position is responsible for managing and maintaining the organization’s Cisco‑based unified communications systems, ensuring secure, reliable, and high‑performing connectivity. It involves configuring and troubleshooting network infrastructure, optimizing voice systems, and collaborating with IT teams to support business operations.

Under the direction of the Network Operations Manager, this position performs highly complex (senior‑level) network systems work, supporting design, implementation, and maintenance of network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, and related systems. Responsibilities include monitoring network performance, troubleshooting issues, deployment and configuration of network hardware and software, network upgrades and modifications, implementing security practices, conducting routine assessments, maintaining documentation, and staying current with emerging technologies.

Key Responsibilities

Configure, maintain and troubleshoot Cisco‑based network infrastructure.

Monitor performance and troubleshoot wide range of network, voice, data, video, and wireless issues.

Deploy, configure and upgrade network hardware and software.

Implement standard security practices and conduct assessments to ensure compliance.

Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations and service records.

Collaborate with IT teams to develop practical network solutions.

Provide technical support to end‑users and IT staff.

Work with limited supervision, exercising initiative and independent judgment.

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications

Education: Associate’s degree from an accredited university in a technical field of study.

Experience: 5 years of progressively responsible network engineering experience.

Licensure: Must possess or be able to obtain a valid Texas driver’s license within 30 days of employment.

Acceptable Substitutions

Three or more years of relevant contiguous network experience OR a technical/vocational certificate in network administration, design, or information systems may substitute for the associate’s degree.

Four or more years of extensive experience in network security may substitute for 30 semester hours of the required education.

Preferred Qualifications

Education: Four‑year Bachelor of Science degree in a network or information technology related field.

Experience: Six or more years of progressively responsible network engineering experience, preferably with a project focus.

Licensure: Cisco CCNA or equivalent certification.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of Cisco technologies and related networking concepts.

Additional Information Seniority level: Mid‑Senior level.
