Job Title: Injection Molding Process Engineer
Duration: 12 Months
We are seeking an experienced Injection Molding Process Engineer to support and optimize injection molding operations. This role will focus on reducing scrap, improving cycle times, driving process efficiency, and executing validation activities related to materials, presses, and molds—all within a continuous improvement environment.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and establish robust process windows for injection molded components using Scientific Molding and Design of Experiments (DOE)
Troubleshoot molding and manufacturing processes to prevent product defects and downtime
Optimize cycle times, changeovers, and setup times to improve manufacturing efficiency
Apply technical knowledge of molding equipment including hydraulic/electric presses, molds, hot runner systems, dryers, loaders, sprue pickers, and blenders
Perform process validations including capability analysis, MSA, and optimization studies
Create and maintain technical documentation including work instructions, setup sheets, operating procedures, and functional tests
Support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Root Cause Analysis, and cGMP practices
Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve issues and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
Participate in PFMEA, control plan development, and product design reviews
Specify, procure, and support installation of new manufacturing equipment and tooling
Design workspace and equipment layouts for maximum efficiency
Qualifications
5+ years of hands‑on injection molding process engineering experience (required)
Strong working knowledge of molding‑grade plastics including PP, PC, ABS, Nylon, etc.
Experience with hydraulic & electric molding machines and related tooling equipment
Proficient in Scientific Molding methodologies
RJG Master Molder Certification (preferred)
Experience with EOAT and 6‑axis robot programming (preferred)
Understanding of statistical analysis for process improvement
Experience working in regulated manufacturing, ideally cGMP or medical device environments
Seniority level Mid‑Senior level
