Job Description THIS IS A FULL TIME CONTRACT TO HIRE POSITION. YOU MUST BE PHYSICALLY BASED IN NEW YORK CITY.

We are seeking an experienced Low Voltage Engineer to assist installation, and maintain advanced alarm monitoring, IoT, and basic network systems across commercial and industrial environments. The ideal candidate has hands‑on experience with low voltage electronics, wiring, RF communications and equipment, and basic IP‑based network communications, as well as strong practical skills in equipment maintenance and field service. This role ensures reliable operation and uptime of distributed monitoring infrastructure through proper installation, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of connected systems and devices.

Key Responsibilities System Integration

Assist in installation, and configure low voltage systems including alarm monitoring, access control, cameras and IoT sensor networks.

Integrate IoT devices and gateways using RF (LoRa), Wi‑Fi, or cellular communications.

Develop and interpret wiring diagrams, network schematics, and installation layouts.

Networking Assistance

Assist Network admins with onsite maintenance with various network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, and IoT gateways.

Assist Network admins with basic network monitoring, diagnostics, and troubleshooting procedures.

Equipment Maintenance & Field Service

Perform routine equipment maintenance, including:

Battery replacement for remote sensors and alarm panels.

Device reinstallation and repositioning to optimize signal strength and performance.

Hardware inspections and firmware updates to maintain system reliability.

Conduct preventive maintenance on installed systems to minimize downtime.

Document service visits, maintenance activities, and component replacements.

Monitoring & Support

Monitor and support alarm monitoring systems and related network communications infrastructure.

Provide remote and on‑site support for system failures, alerts, and connectivity issues.

Coordinate with IT and operations teams to ensure rapid response and resolution of technical incidents.

Documentation & Compliance

Maintain accurate documentation for network configurations, device inventories, and maintenance logs.

Ensure compliance with industry standards and codes (NEC, NFPA 72, UL, FCC, etc.).

Support audits and reviews related to system uptime, security, and data integrity.

Required Qualifications

5+ years of hands‑on experience in low voltage systems and wiring, IoT integration, or alarm system installation.

Proficiency in:

Alarm and monitoring systems (hardware/software)

IoT device setup and network connectivity

RF, IP, and related network and communication protocols

Basic Network principles and troubleshooting (ping, traceroute, SNMP, etc.)

Basic knowledge of TCP/IP, VPNs, DHCP, DNS, and secure network practices.

Ability to read and produce schematics, wiring diagrams, and system documentation, if needed.

Qualifications

Certifications such as FASA/BASA, CompTIA Network+

Experience in field maintenance, equipment servicing, and remote diagnostics.

Some Knowledge of access control, industrial automation, camera systems or smart building systems.

Soft Skills

Strong problem-solving and communication abilities.

Excellent attention to detail and documentation discipline.

Ability to work independently in field conditions and coordinate with remote teams.

Customer‑focused mindset with a commitment to system reliability and safety.
