Role Summary Our Client is seeking an Electrical Engineer specializing in Power Systems to join their team. The role involves contributing to the design and production of power conversion and distribution systems for vessel propulsion. As a key member of the Electrical, Hardware, & Embedded team, you will play a vital role in developing critical components for safety‑critical applications in maritime environments.
Responsibilities
Design ship power conversion systems, including switchboards and components
Act as a subject matter expert for electrical power system integration activities
Analyze and design vessel electrical & propulsion systems
Integrate designed systems with existing vessel propulsion systems for testing
Develop essential diagrams, schematics, and wiring diagrams for R&D purposes
Participate in testing, troubleshooting, commissioning, and integration activities
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in electrical engineering with a focus on system‑level design
Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
Proficiency in power generation and distribution systems
Experience with filtering power from PWM devices
Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced engineering environment
Background in the marine industry or marine equipment
Familiarity with Marine Class Societies and regulatory standards
Experience with USCG, MIL STD, and UL standards
