Senior Tax Accountant [Hybrid]

Position Summary:
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Tax Accountant to join our growing finance team. This role is responsible for tax compliance, planning, and reporting across a variety of entities, with exposure to clients and operations in the agriculture sector preferred (not required). This is an excellent opportunity for a tax professional with 4–10+ years of experience who is ready to take on more responsibility, mentor junior staff, and contribute to strategic tax initiatives within a collaborative team.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and review federal, state, and local income tax returns for corporations, partnerships, and individuals.
Ensure timely and accurate tax filings, meeting all compliance deadlines.
Assist in tax provision and reporting under ASC 740, including quarterly and annual reporting.
Research and analyze complex tax issues, and prepare technical memoranda as needed.
Identify opportunities for tax savings and support implementation of tax planning strategies.
Assist with IRS and state audit responses and other tax authority correspondence.
Monitor regulatory changes and assess their impact on clients and internal practices.
Participate in special projects such as entity restructuring, M&A, and multi-state tax analysis.
Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior accountants.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s in Accounting or CPA preferred).
4–10+ years of relevant tax experience (public accounting and/or corporate tax department).
Strong technical knowledge of U.S. federal and state tax regulations.
Experience with tax software (e.g., UltraTax, GoSystem, CCH Axcess, or similar).
Proficient in Excel and experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks).
Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
CPA license or in active pursuit of CPA.
Experience or interest in serving agriculture clients, cooperatives, or farm operations.
Familiarity with tax issues related to Section 199A, passive activity rules, and multi-entity structures.
Knowledge of international or multi-state tax issues is a plus.
