Financial Controller Location: Indiana, United States

The Financial Controller plays a pivotal role in overseeing the financial health and integrity of the organization by managing all accounting operations and ensuring accurate financial reporting. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining robust financial controls, preparing detailed financial statements, and conducting comprehensive audits to ensure compliance with regulatory standards. The Financial Controller will lead the cost accounting processes, analyze balance sheets, and manage payroll tax obligations to optimize financial performance. By collaborating closely with senior management, this role supports strategic decision-making through insightful financial analysis and reporting. Ultimately, the Financial Controller ensures the organization's financial practices are efficient, transparent, and aligned with business objectives.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting or financial management roles.

Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory requirements.

Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in a manufacturing or cost‑intensive industry.

Experience managing small financial department.

Strong ability to multi‑task, self‑manage, and deliver under pressure, meeting management deadlines.

Strong ability to be a self‑starter and highly motivated in tasks.

Responsibilities

Manage and oversee daily accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.

Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.

Lead the cost accounting function by monitoring standard costing, analyzing variances, and recommending cost control measures.

Coordinate and support internal and external financial audits, ensuring timely and accurate submission of required documentation.

Ensure compliance with payroll tax regulations and oversee payroll processing to maintain accuracy and timeliness.

Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard company assets.

Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to provide financial insights and support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning activities.

Skills The required skills such as cost accounting, balance sheet analysis, and financial audit are essential for maintaining accurate and compliant financial records on a daily basis. Proficiency in financial statements preparation and financial reporting enables the controller to deliver clear and insightful information to stakeholders. Payroll tax knowledge ensures that all employee compensation complies with tax laws and regulations, preventing legal and financial risks. Standard costing and bank reconciliation skills are used to monitor and control company expenses and cash flow effectively. Preferred skills like ERP system expertise and leadership capabilities enhance the ability to streamline financial processes and lead teams efficiently, contributing to the overall financial stability and growth of the organization.

Monday – Friday (On Site Only) 8‑5 pm, Overtime may be necessary as required for salary position.
