Controller ($110,000–$130,000) – On-site, Dallas
LHH Recruitment Solutions seeks a Controller for a well‑established restaurant group located in East Dallas. The ideal candidate will have at least 15 years of accounting experience in the restaurant industry, strong technical skills in Excel, and a working knowledge of Access or SQL for data manipulation.
Responsibilities
Oversee and perform the monthly close process for consolidated financials Prepare monthly financial statements for internal management and external stakeholders Coordinate closely with external CPA for annual reviews and certifications Supervise payroll and accounts payable teams, ensuring accuracy and timeliness Maintain and enforce internal accounting controls across the organization Manage vendor relationships, including pricing discussions and dispute resolution Ensure timely filing and payment of sales, payroll, and property taxes Lead the annual medical benefits review and employee rollout process Handle income tax return preparation and submission at both the state and federal level Client Requirements
Minimum of 15 years of accounting experience within the restaurant or hospitality industry CPA designation is highly preferred Strong Excel skills and familiarity with using Access or SQL to organize and manipulate data Experience managing a small accounting team in a hands‑on environment Knowledge of GAAP and small business accounting/reporting best practices Familiarity with Peachtree/Sage 50 or similar accounting platforms is a plus Excellent organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills Ability to work independently while supporting and coordinating with others Seniority Level
