Job Purpose
The Corporate Senior Accountant is responsible for managing general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and month‑end close processes for the organization. This role ensures compliance with GAAP, supports audit and tax requirements, and provides financial analysis to assist management in strategic decision‑making.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Perform daily tasks of recording journal entries and reviewing the status of various accounts.
Prepare and record key month‑end journal entries that significantly impact financial statements.
Prepare financial statements, balance sheets, and other financial reports.
Reconcile accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank statements, and other balance‑sheet accounts.
Support ad hoc requests and reporting needs, as necessary.
Ensure that all financial information published is accurate, timely, and compliant.
Support external audits by providing support and documentation for various audit requests.
Ensure compliance with accounting principles (GAAP) and regulations.
Identify and recommend improvements to accounting processes and procedures.
Additional Job Functions
Knowledge of general office clerical procedures.
Strong computer skills with expertise in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Ability to regularly exercise sound judgment.
Working Conditions Physical Demands: Requires sitting or standing for extended periods of time; frequent walking, bending, and reaching to shoulder level; occasional squatting, lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling weight up to 20 pounds; repetitive hand movement; eye‑hand coordination and manual dexterity; corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
Equipment Operated: Ability to operate office machines and equipment and troubleshoot problems with equipment.
Work Location: Atlanta Corporate Headquarters.
Education / Training A bachelor's degree in accounting is required. CPA is preferred but not required.
Experience
Minimum of five (5) years of experience with general ledger accounting.
Foundational knowledge of GAAP and accounting requirements.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (emphasis on Excel).
Experience in a corporate environment is preferred.
Qualifications
