Description The MaineHealth Cancer Care Network (MHCCN) is actively seeking a Hematologist Oncologist to join Maine Health Cancer Care at Western Maine Health, Norway, Maine.
Highlights Of This Opportunity Include
Part of a statewide oncology care program – the MaineHealth Cancer Care Network (MHCCN).
The MHCCN is an integrated care delivery network across the southern, central, and coastal regions of Maine and eastern New Hampshire, comprising 12 hospital partners and providing comprehensive cancer care to more than 6,800 analytic cancer patients annually.
MHCCN’s comprehensive cancer care program is accredited by ASCO QOPI, COC, NAPBC and NAPRC.
Fully integrated surgical oncology, radiation oncology, palliative care, patient support/social worker, and nutritionist services.
Robust research program through membership in the National Cancer Institute’s Community Oncology Research Program (NCORP).
A total of 19 dedicated tumor board meetings for multiple cancer types (GI/GU, liver cancer, breast, lung, neuro‑oncology, hematologic malignancies) monthly, open virtually to all MHCCN members.
Leading edge analytics and metrics, including membership of ASCO CancerLinQ, and use of EPIC EMR system with BEACON.
Established general oncology practice.

Supported by experienced APRNs, an on‑site infusion center, oncology pharmacy staffed by dedicated pharmacists, nurse navigators, social workers, and other allied staff.
Inpatient care is provided by hospitalists.
Supplemented as necessary by tertiary care oncology services available at Maine Health Cancer Care, South Portland, and Maine Medical Center (MMC) in Portland. MMC is the state’s leading tertiary care hospital with 700 licensed beds and is fully equipped to manage acute hematology including malignancies and complex oncology cases.
Built on primary care referral bases with multiple referral sources from the community.
Desired Qualifications & Experience
A degree in medicine from an accredited medical school.
Successful completion of residency/fellowship at an accredited program.
Board Certified or Board Eligible in hematology or hematology and oncology.
New graduates and those early in their careers are especially encouraged to apply.
