Assistant Store Manager (River Ridge, LA)

Responsibilities
Lead, supervise, and motivate store employees to meet production guidelines (minimum 125 garments per hour with 80% quality).
Support store operations: receiving, sorting, pricing, merchandising, and selling donated goods.
Ensure compliance with safety policies and store standards.
Maintain a clean, hazard‑free environment and a positive public image.
Open and close the store, balance registers, and conduct end‑of‑day procedures.
Assist in scheduling, staffing, and daily communication with transportation and district management.
Conduct daily walkthroughs, team huddles, and regular meetings.
Track production, revenue, and expense budgets and work to meet or exceed goals.
Skills and Abilities
Ability to meet budgeted goals and implement contingency plans if needed.
Strong interpersonal skills for working with diverse individuals.
Effective marketing of Goodwill’s mission to the public.
Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and occasional long hours.
Valid driver’s license, vehicle registration, liability insurance, and MVR check required.
Proficiency in repetitive hand movements and physical stamina for standing, walking, bending.
Background knowledge of clothing brands and household item values.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum two years of retail management experience preferred.
Experience leading retail sales, production, manufacturing, or assembly teams.
Maintain minimum liability automobile insurance as required by Louisiana.
Proficiency in computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel).
