Before and After School Leader – Arrowhead Elementary School Assists the program director to plan and implement the child care program, developing and promoting good community relations among various stakeholders. Responsibilities include supervising and engaging with students during program hours, communicating with parents, school staff, and district personnel, maintaining safe conditions, marketing the program, and attending professional development trainings.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Follow and enforce Colorado Department of Early Childhood licensing requirements (daily, 15%).

Supervise and engage with students during program hours (daily, 15%).

Communicate effectively with parents, students, school staff, district staff, and co‑workers (daily, 10%).

Maintain safe conditions for all students and staff (daily, 10%).

Promote and market the program for before/after care and full days (daily, 5%).

Attend professional development trainings as required by licensing and district (daily, 5%).

Assist in implementing quality lesson plans and may aid in creating lesson plans (monthly, 15%).

Assist with maintenance, proper storage, and repair of equipment and supplies (monthly, 5%).

Contribute ideas for enrichment activities, projects, and program quality (monthly, 5%).

Create and implement activities and field trips for full day programming (monthly, 5%).

Attend monthly program staff meetings as required by director (monthly, 5%).

Perform other duties as assigned or requested (daily, 5%).

Minimum Qualifications

Criminal background check and fingerprinting required.

Must be age 18 or over.

At least one of the following:

Three (3) months of verified experience in the care and supervision of four (4) or more unrelated children, or A current early childhood professional credential level I or higher in version 3.0.

Complete at least 15 clock hours of training each year (June 1 – May 31).

Knowledge of most aspects of childcare.

Ability to develop and utilize appropriate discipline procedures.

Some leadership and management skill.

Ability to make appropriate decisions and solve problems effectively.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Current CPR/First Aid Certification or ability to obtain within 30 days.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Light work strength level – lifting or carrying up to 25 pounds.

Works both indoors and outdoors; typically a loud noise level.

Occasional lifting, pulling, and/or pushing.

Frequent bending, reaching, climbing, squatting, and visual concentration.

Works with others.

Desired Qualifications

Experience working in the public sector.

Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Racially conscious and culturally competent, with a commitment to continuous improvement.

Paid licensed child‑care program, teaching assistant/para‑educator, or licensed teaching experience.

Reporting Relationship This position reports to the Director or designee and has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
