Position Summary We are seeking a Clinical Laboratory Scientist with a valid California CLS license to join our clinical operations team. This role involves supporting clinical trial workflows, ensuring regulatory compliance, and performing high-complexity testing in a CLIA-certified environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in molecular diagnostics and a passion for advancing clinical research.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct high-complexity molecular testing, including NGS-based assays, in compliance with CLIA/CAP regulations.
Perform sample and library QC.
Operate and maintain Illumina sequencers.
Review and validate clinical data and laboratory results for accuracy and completeness.
Collaborate with clinical trial sponsors and internal teams to ensure protocol adherence.
Maintain detailed documentation and contribute to regulatory submissions.
Assist in the development and validation of new clinical assays.
Participate in quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsible for maintaining updated understanding and knowledge of methods performed in the lab
Follows GLP (good laboratory practice): maintain clean and organized work space
Participates in the updating of departmental standard operating procedures to accurately reflect the current practices.
Performs quality control procedures to ensure accuracy of clinical data (if applicable)
Assists teammates in completing daily tasks
Qualifications
Valid California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) license.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Molecular Biology, or related field.
2+ years of experience in a clinical laboratory or clinical research setting.
Familiarity with NGS workflows and clinical assay validation preferred.
Strong understanding of CLIA/CAP regulations and GCP guidelines.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Must be legally authorized to work in the USA.
