Position Description Contributes to the university’s mission through teaching, research, and service. Rank is Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor, with salary dependent on qualifications and experience.

Major / Essential Functions

Provides supervision and teaching to medical students and residents in Psychiatry.

Works with learners to provide patient care to psychiatry patients.

Conducts educational activities and/or research related to mental health.

Provides clinical services to patients.

Teaches residents in the field of Psychiatry.

Provides proportional call coverage to hospitals and ED consults.

Participates in clinical research and scholarly activity.

Provides administrative and academic direction to the department, complying with institutional policies.

Provides leadership and mentoring to faculty in education, research, and clinical care.

Recruits staff and faculty to carry out the department’s missions.

Ensures efficient administration and responsible financial management of the department.

Addresses audits and maintains management and control of business, personnel, finance, and billing/coding processes.

Collaborates with the University Medical Center and Covenant Medical Center to strengthen teaching and clinical missions.

Assures high‑quality teaching programs for students, residents, fellows, faculty, and postgraduates.

Maintains residency and fellowship programs with necessary accreditations, and recruits top residents and fellows.

Required Qualifications

Medical Degree (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO).
