Director of Value Based Care Analytics

The Director of Value Based Care Analytics leads the strategy and hands‑on execution of Vanova Health Solutions’ analytical capabilities for value‑based care contracts, combining team leadership with direct analytical work to deliver critical insights that drive contract performance and strategic decision‑making. The Director directs clinical analytics activities in VBC and alternative payment models, including primary care value‑based payment models and expanding into specialty care, episode of care, and bundled payment models, clinical performance measurement and clinical insights development. In this high‑visibility role the Director works with external payer partners and internal VBC leadership while maintaining deep involvement in complex analytical work. Reporting to the Chief Medical Officer, the position focuses on analytical excellence and stakeholder partnership to support Vanova Health’s mission to empower independent physicians. Responsibilities
Hands‑On Analytical Execution
Prioritize and direct the planning and execution of clinical analytics strategic initiatives and projects, supporting the translation of health care value‑based goals into actionable solutions Lead complex clinical analytics projects involving multiple data resources and cross‑functional teams to inform business decisions Responsible for value‑based program monthly reporting, which includes attributed members by value‑based providers, quality and cost performance, APP payments, and shared savings payment forecasting and reconciliation Lead value‑based program quality analytics and provider reporting and development and maintenance of provider scorecards Lead opportunity analyses for prospective VBC contracts, including financial modeling, risk assessment, contract structure development, contract evaluation and supporting negotiations with partners Conduct performance analyses of existing VBC contracts across financial, operational, and clinical dimensions Personally execute statistical analyses and predictive modeling to support contract optimization and risk management Oversee preparation and validation of medical claims reconciliations with VBC partners Develop and maintain advanced analytical models for contract performance monitoring and forecasting Manage, develop, empower, and expand a team of data analysts, modeling Vanova’s company values while fostering collaboration, growth, and high performance Provide technical mentorship and guidance on complex analytical challenges Coordinate team capacity and prioritize analytical projects to maximize business impact Foster analytical excellence and ensure quality standards across all team deliverables Balance individual contributor responsibilities with effective team management External Stakeholder Engagement
Present complex analytical findings to diverse audiences, including both internal teams and external clients Support contract negotiations by providing data‑driven insights and risk assessments Internal Partnership and Communication
Work closely with Vanova Health leadership including CEO, Chief Medical Officer, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer Translate analytical findings into actionable insights for operational and strategic decision‑making Support business development efforts through comprehensive opportunity assessments Collaborate with clinical and operations teams to quantify program effectiveness and identify improvement opportunities Provide analytical input to inform VBC strategy development Technical Excellence and Innovation
Maintain expertise in healthcare claims data, risk adjustment methodologies, and VBC financial models Stay current with industry trends in value‑based care analytics and payment model evolution Ensure analytical approaches align with organizational standards while meeting VBC‑specific requirements Document methodologies and maintain reproducible analytical processes Contribute to enterprise analytical capabilities through knowledge sharing and best practice development Other duties as required. Qualifications
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Data Science, Healthcare Administration, or related quantitative field required Advanced Degree: Master’s degree in a relevant field preferred Healthcare Analytics: 7+ years of experience in healthcare data and analytics, with minimum 4+ years focused on value‑based care, managed care, or health plan analytics Claims Data Expertise: Deep experience working with large medical and pharmacy claims datasets, including data normalization, reconciliation, and quality assessment Actuarial Concepts: Demonstrated experience, proficiency, and strong understanding of risk adjustment, IBNR, and other actuarial methodologies applicable to VBC contracts Technical Proficiency: Advanced SQL skills (Snowflake preferred), Python for statistical analysis, Power BI development, and sophisticated Excel modeling Leadership Experience managing analytical teams with demonstrated ability to develop talent while maintaining hands‑on technical contribution External focus: Experience with external facing customers in the business development and account management process as the primary analytics representative Experience and strong ability to communicate insights clearly and confidently, creating compelling presentations that communicate effectively to diverse stakeholders. Excellent project and time management skills; ability to prioritize effectively Ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships across all levels of the organization. High ethical standards and ability to maintain confidentiality. Work Environment / Physical Demands

The anticipated base annual salary for this role ranges from $150,000 to $175,000. This position may offer an opportunity for annual target bonus based on individual performance and company financial performance. Comprehensive benefits based on eligibility include a 401(k) retirement savings plan with company match, paid time off (vacation, personal days, holidays, and sick time), and health benefits (medical, prescription drug, dental and vision insurance). Please note that individual total compensation for this position will be determined at the Company’s sole discretion and may vary based on several factors, including but not limited to location, skill level, years and depth of relevant experience, and education.
