The Junior Accountant plays a key role in supporting accurate financial reporting and maintaining accounting records for both tesa tape Inc. and tesa Plant Sparta in accordance with GAAP and IFRS standards. This position is responsible for a variety of accounting functions, including preparing monthly journal entries, managing and reporting on fixed assets and investments, and assisting the Senior Staff Accountant in maintaining complete and systematic records of the company's financial transactions. This role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to perform complex clerical and bookkeeping tasks with accuracy and consistency.

How you'll help the formula:

Prepare journal entries

Assist with monthly, quarterly and year end closing

Participate in the monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts

Collaborate across departments to identify and reclassify transactions to the appropriate general ledger accounts and cost centers

Comply with local, state, and federal government requirements

Identify and recommend updates to accounting processes and procedures

Directly support tesa Plant Sparta in accounting and investment areas as requested

Coordinate preparation and submission of investment requests with project owners

Ensure timely capitalization of fixed assets in accordance with company policies

Record disposal or impairment of fixed assets as necessary

Prepare and post monthly depreciation entries

Input quarterly fixed asset results into global reporting system

Prepare monthly reconciliations of fixed asset accounts

Prepare forecast for fixed asset spending and related cash flows including entry in APEX reporting system

Partner with key stakeholders across the organization to facilitate the investment process across the lifecycle of investments including providing required information for Investment Day submissions

Review results of system audits for Concur expense reports and processing appropriately

Other duties as required

Key elements for your role:

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or another related field, or equivalent years of accounting experience

Ability to work productively and focused to meet deadlines

Advanced Excel experience required

SAP experience, preferred

Must be organized and able to handle multiple projects simultaneously

Knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping procedures

Strong mathematical and analytical skills

Must have a valid driver's license

Travel to Plant Sparta a few days a month to provide in person support
