Job Overview We're seeking an experienced Industrial Automation Engineer to expand our specialized team serving oil & gas clients across Texas, Mexico, and UAE. You'll work directly with our leadership team on high-impact projects ranging from 6-week implementations to 12-month enterprise transformations.
Description As a Senior IIoT Engineer at TekToro Digital Solutions, you will lead the implementation of enterprise Ignition SCADA systems for oil and gas clients, architecting robust solutions that seamlessly integrate edge computing, cloud services, and advanced automation technologies. Your role will involve designing and deploying scalable, secure SCADA architectures that enable real-time data acquisition from remote field devices, leveraging MQTT protocols for efficient, high-resolution data transmission, and ensuring reliable system performance even in challenging environments. You will oversee migrations from legacy platforms, integrate PLCs and RTUs, and deliver expert consultation while upholding industry standards for cybersecurity and operational reliability. Your technical leadership will help drive digital transformation for our clients, combining best-in-class automation with actionable insights delivered through both edge and cloud platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement SCADA systems using Ignition platform for oil & gas operations
Develop MQTT protocol solutions for industrial IoT applications
Lead OT/IT convergence projects ensuring cybersecurity best practices
Collaborate with international clients on automation system upgrades and installations
Provide technical consulting on industrial automation strategies
Support project management activities with timeline and budget accountability
Contribute to client training materials and technical documentation
Requirements
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, or related field
5-15+ years experience in industrial automation within oil & gas sector
Ignition SCADA platform expertise (Gold certification preferred)
Strong knowledge of MQTT protocols and industrial communication systems
Experience with HMI development and real-time data systems
Understanding of oil & gas industry regulations and compliance requirements
Extensive OT Knowledge, including PLC programming.
Proven track record of project delivery on time and within budget
Preferred Qualifications
PLC programming Certificates (Rockwell, Siemens)
Ignition Gold certification with Inductive Automation
Experience working with international clients and regulatory environments
Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks for industrial systems
Familiarity with Autosol or similar industrial software platforms
Previous remote work experience in global teams
