Days Monday - Friday 7am - 3:30pm with some on-call as needed

Job Description:

A power plant mechanic performs preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment in a power plant, including disassembling, repairing, and reassembling components like turbines, generators, pumps, and boilers. They use diagnostic tools, repair manuals, and machine shop equipment to troubleshoot and fix issues, ensure proper function, and maintain records. The role requires a strong understanding of safety procedures, such as Lock Out/Tag Out, and may involve working in confined spaces or being on-call for emergencies. Key responsibilities

Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on a wide range of power plant equipment, such as gas and steam turbines, generators, pumps, compressors, boilers, and associated piping systems. Take apart, inspect, repair, or rebuild mechanical components, including rotating and auxiliary equipment. Use diagnostic tools, such as vibration analysis and oil sampling, and repair manuals to identify and correct problems in mechanical and electrical systems. Install new equipment, including rigging, hoisting, and alignment, and maintain and repair piping systems for steam, water, and fuel. Adhere strictly to safety procedures, including Lock Out/Tag Out, and work in accordance with all applicable local, state, and federal laws. Maintain accurate records of all maintenance performed, equipment history, and logs. Operate machine shop equipment to fabricate parts and use hand tools to perform repairs. Be available for emergency call-outs to address after-hours issues and ensure continuous operation. Required skills and qualifications

Strong mechanical aptitude and diagnostic skills. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and service manuals. Proficiency in using a variety of hand and power tools, as well as machine shop equipment. Knowledge of safety procedures, particularly Lock Out/Tag Out. Experience with specific systems like high-pressure steam, boilers, or rotating equipment is often required. Physical ability to perform duties, which may include working in confined spaces, confined spaces, and in various weather conditions. Experience with maintenance record-keeping.
