Job Title: Engineering Technician

Job Description

As an Engineering Technician, you will provide technical and administrative support to the NDE engineering team. Your role will involve facilitating the processing and delivery of inspection tools, analyzing NDE data, and tracking inspector assignments and progress. You will coordinate inspection assignments, track the progress of inspector results, request quotes from vendors, monitor progress to schedule requirements, and verify requirements are met upon delivery.

Responsibilities

Perform technical and inventory activities under the direction of NDE Engineers to support commercial and military engines.

Prepare parts for FPI, clean parts post-inspection, package parts, and prepare inspection documentation.

Coordinate and track inspection assignments and inspector results.

Request quotes from vendors and monitor progress to ensure schedule requirements are met.

Provide training and auditing of NDT systems.

Establish NDT and general quality systems and NDT methods.

Essential Skills

Associate Degree or 1+ year in machining

Proficiency in Excel.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Excellent organizational skills.

Experience with training and auditing NDT systems.

Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing operations.

Ability to work independently.

Proven ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management, internal and external customers.

Knowledge and experience with root cause and process control tools.

Experience with SAP and Microsoft suite.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Lab experience in school or internship.

Scientific theory experience from school or internships (preferred both).

Experience with database management, troubleshooting, machinist apprenticeship, CNC machining, R&D lab, inspection of parts, and test requirements.

1+ year experience as a Production Technician or Machinist.

Knowledge of FPI, Eddy current testing, and Ultrasonic testing.

Advance degree or degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.

NDE, measurement/instrumentation, design, and report writing preferred.

This role is based onsite at the East Hartford campus, within a dynamic group that frequently changes priorities. The group is dedicated to fixing flight safety problems and driving cutting-edge advances in the aerospace industry. Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of East Hartford, CT.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
