Ledgent Finance & Accounting's client is currently seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant with a robust foundation in accounting principles and general ledger management. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about ensuring the accuracy and integrity of payroll-related financial data.

As a key member of the Finance and Accounting team, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for recording, analyzing, and reconciling payroll transactions in alignment with accounting standards. The individual will collaborate closely with Payroll, HR, HRIS, and Finance to ensure payroll liabilities are properly accounted for and reflected in the company's financial statements.

Responsibilities

Perform core accounting functions including journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals.

Support payroll-related allocations and reconciliations.

Assist with ad hoc projects related to payroll and accounting integration.

Prepare and maintain financial records and reports.

Collaborate with the Payroll Garnishment Supervisor on shared responsibilities.

Prepare journal entries related to payroll in PDI.

Calculate and record payroll accruals for fiscal periods.

Reconcile General Ledger Balance Sheet accounts using Blackline.

Analyze payroll data and generate financial reports for management.

Ensure payroll transactions are compliant with corporate policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.

Maintain documentation of internal controls and support audit processes including payroll, internal control, and year-end financial statement audits.

Monitor and implement changes in accounting standards and payroll regulations, ensuring proper documentation and training.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll accounting or general ledger accounting.

Strong understanding of accounting systems and payroll integration.

High attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.

Ability to manage confidential financial data with integrity.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software; experience with PDI and Workday is a plus.

Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.

Required Work Hours Monday - Friday, 1st shift.

Benefits Max Pay is $85,000. Min Pay is $70,000.
