Base pay range $70,000.00/yr - $90,000.00/yr
Our client is seeking a Staff Accountant to play an integral role in their accounting operations, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP. This position will support day‑to‑day accounting activities, assist in the month‑end close process, gain exposure to both domestic and international operations, and work closely with cross‑functional teams across the business. The ideal candidate will bring strong accounting fundamentals and a collaborative mindset suited for a fast‑paced, growth‑oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules as part of the monthly, quarterly, and year‑end close processes
Maintain general ledger accounts and ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial data
Assist with accruals and expense analysis, including R&D project tracking and contract‑related expenses
Reconcile and analyze balance sheet accounts such as cash, prepaids, fixed assets, accruals, and intercompany accounts
Support accounts payable and purchasing processes, ensuring proper coding, documentation, and compliance with company policies
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (FP&A, R&D, Operations, HR, etc.) to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
Assist with international subsidiary financial reporting and maintain relationships with third‑party accounting firms supporting those operations
Participate in process documentation, internal control compliance, and system implementation initiatives
Assist with ad hoc analyses, reports, and special projects as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
Public accounting experience preferred
2+ years of progressive accounting experience; prior biotech or life sciences industry experience a plus
Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP
Experience with NetSuite or comparable ERP systems preferred
Familiarity with procurement systems such as Zageno and/or Prendio a plus
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (vlookups, pivot tables, data validation, etc.)
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills with high attention to detail
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative, team‑oriented approach
Ability to work independently in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment and manage multiple priorities
