Overview This Mass Tort Paralegal position is open in our virtual office, The Link, or any of our locations.

The Pacific Northwest is preferred, but not mandatory for candidates with asbestos litigation experience.

Responsibilities

Assist attorneys in fact investigation, legal research, document preparation and production, database management, docketing/case management, and overall client service.

Focus on Pacific Northwest asbestos practice, including discovery, deposition preparation, investigation, trial and mediation preparation, analysis of factual information, and assistance in preparation of pleadings, motions, and/or briefs.

Manage document production databases and case management databases, scheduling, and calendaring.

Maintain professional demeanor and attitude; comply with firm policies; sustain attention to detail and quality of work.

Learn and develop technical proficiency in database use and management; internet and electronic research; project folder and electronic file maintenance.

Organize and manage files independently or delegate similar tasks to Paralegal Assistants or Information Governance and supervise the same.

Attend and participate in in‑house CLEs; mentor Paralegal Assistants.

Anticipate attorney needs and handle all key duties without supervision of another Paralegal or Senior Paralegal.

Meet billable hour requirement of 1,500 hours per year.

Position‑Specific Requirements

Pacific Northwest asbestos/Toxic Tort litigation experience mandatory.

Paralegal Certificate or Bachelor’s degree in a law‑related field, or Associate’s degree and paralegal training.

Familiarity with e‑filing protocols and online docket research in Pacific Northwest state and federal courts.

Location in the Pacific Northwest area preferred but not required for candidates with asbestos litigation experience.

Compensation and Benefits Employees are entitled to compensation commensurate with skill and experience.

The exact compensation will vary based on skills, experience, location, and other factors permitted by law.

The expected compensation ranges for this position in various states and jurisdictions are as follows:

California: $84,000 – $112,000

Colorado: $67,000 – $92,000

Illinois: $72,000 – $98,000

Maryland: $70,000 – $98,000

Massachusetts: $76,000 – $90,000

Minnesota: $89,000 – $100,000

New Jersey: $85,000 – $116,000

New York: $79,000 – $116,000

Washington: $78,000 – $106,000

Washington, DC: $85,000 – $115,000
