Advanced 5‑Axis CNC Tooling and Setup Specialist Join Pioneer Motor Bearing Co. as an Advanced 5‑Axis CNC Tooling and Setup Specialist and help keep critical infrastructure and defense assets running.

Our team designs and repairs precision components for aerospace, defense, and power generation applications.

Responsibilities

Interpret complex drawings, route sheets, and technical specifications to create efficient 5‑axis setups.

Use math and geometry to solve machining challenges and edit CNC programs.

Proactively suggest tooling or process changes to reduce cycle time and improve quality.

Safely rig and move heavy parts using overhead cranes.

Set up CNC mills and multi‑axis lathes with correct tooling and offsets for manufacturing and repair of fluid film bearings, seals, and aerospace/defense parts.

Manufacture and inspect parts from blueprints, sketches, drawings, and verbal instructions using a range of cutting tools.

Maintain dimensional accuracy with precision measuring gear (dial calipers, micrometers, surface gauges, dial indicators).

Keep the work area organized and hazard‑free while meeting quality and throughput targets.

Communicate production risks early if quality, delivery, or customer requirements could be impacted.

Qualifications

Proficient 5‑axis setup and operation; Journeyman‑level skill set preferred.

Trade/technical degree or 5+ years of relevant experience/training, or an equivalent combination.

Ability to read and interpret technical procedures and specifications from multiple sources.

Comfort with controls and platforms from DMG MORI, Okuma, Hyundai, Fanuc, and others.

Strong presentation and communication skills across teams and levels.

Math fluency in proportions, percentages, area, circumference, volume, algebra, and geometry.

Manufacturing knowledge tied to fluid film bearings, including cutting fluids, finishes, tolerances, turning, drilling, milling, and abrasive processes.

Understanding of materials: steels, nonferrous metals, and alloys; aerospace background is a plus.

Bonus Capabilities

CAD/CAM programming experience.

Problem‑solving mindset and the ability to work independently.

Strong computer literacy, especially with Microsoft tools.

Physical Requirements

Indoor machine shop environment.

Frequently lift/move up to 50 lbs.

Regular stooping, bending, crawling, reaching, standing, and walking.

Read, write, speak, hear, focus, and comprehend complex technical information.
